Executive Coaches: A Trusted Partner in Achieving Your Goals.

It’s no surprise there is a positive ROI when it comes to working with an executive coach. After all, as leaders we know that where we put our energy is where we’re most likely to find success. Because, after all, success doesn’t just happen—it’s worked for.

How does leadership coaching help?

An effective executive coach helps to uncover blind spots getting in your way.  This means honest, real conversations that take stock of and build on your greatest leadership strengths, as well as defining the areas of improvement you might not yet see.

An executive coach helps you:

  • Focus on your true priorities and action steps.

  • Define goals.

  • Ensure accountability.

  • Create forward momentum.

So, how do you find a good executive coach?

No two coaches are alike. You have to feel comfortable sharing openly with your coach and trust they have the best of intentions in helping you. The relationship should come easily as you will be talking about serious topics relative to your ability and your organization.  If your first attempt isn't comfortable after a few weeks of meetings, try a different coach.  Personality matches are important. Key indicators to look for include:

  • Most importantly, make sure your coach has had training from an accredited coach training program.

  • Then, review their experience as you would any employee or trusted advisor.  How many years of experience do they have?  What success stories are they able to share with you?  Can they provide references to you?  Are they willing to sign an NDA relative to your business and discussions?

  • Lastly, make sure you feel a level of trust in the coach to begin with and a comfort that your ability to trust will continue to grow.

In a nutshell, successful leadership coaching shows improved behavior across all aspects of your work effort, such as improved communication style, collaboration, employee retention, performance management, vision setting, prioritization, strategic planning, sales, and revenue growth.  Truly, coaches are a foundation of any thriving business and successful executive leader.
